In order to provide the highest quality product, The Osterlund Company generally uses three types of flooring: 3/4" Solid Plank, 5/8" Engineered Plank, and 1/2" Solid Plank. Our products are moisture cured and fumigated multiple times to ensure quality, stability, and longevity.

A traditional type of flooring that has been used for hundreds of years. It has a 1/4" wear layer for future sanding and refinishing.
3/4" Solid Plank

The Osterlund Company uses only the finest in Engineered flooring. With the right quality, Engineered flooring is superior to solid plank. It has virtually the same wear layer but is much more resistant to cupping and warping, and it utilizes fewer natural resources (i.e. trees).

5/8" Engineered Plank

Essentially the same as 3/4" Solid Plank but is only 1/2" in total thickness. This means that the wear layer is reduced to an 1/8". This type of flooring is usually used when thickness is an issue on a project.

Square edge flooring tends to blend the boards together and the overall look is more formal.

Eased or micro beveled edge floors tend to define each board and suggest a little more rustic, or Old World look. Even so, eased edge floors are often chosen for contemporary homes.

Eased Edge

Beveled edge floors have a very distinctive groove that forms when two boards are installed side-by-side. Generally, these floors lend themselves to an informal and country decor.
